FAQ
Is Pogoplug really unlimited?
Yes! Pogoplug provides unlimited storage through our Pogoplug Cloud and Team service plans, with no restrictions on storage or file size. You can also host your own data at home with one of our award-winning Pogoplug devices, and store an almost unlimited amount of data by attaching more or larger hard drives to your device.
What are the differences between Pogoplug’s products?
Pogoplug offers award-winning hardware, software, and service plans. Our hardware devices bring the contents of any attached hard drive or SD card online. Pogoplug Team provides unlimited, secure storage for your entire team, including coworkers, clients and contractors. Use Pogoplug Companion software to enable automatic, continuous backup of your most important files and folders– even when you’re out of the office. Once safely stored, those same files are securely accessible from any computer, mobile device or Web browser. Share massive files and folders with coworkers or clients from an interface customized to match your branding.
What is the difference between Pogoplug Cloud and the offsite archival storage that comes with Pogoplug Family?
Pogoplug Cloud provides an unlimited amount of cloud storage, the contents of which can be accessed, shared and played instantly from anywhere. Pogoplug also offers offsite archival storage as part of its Family service plan, which allows you to create duplicate copies of the files on your hard drive and store them safely offsite using Amazon Glacier. These backups can be restored in the event of disaster in just a few hours; however, you cannot access or stream these files remotely or from your mobile device.

My Pogoplug device won’t connect. What should I do?
If no light appears on your Pogoplug device after you have set it up, there may be an issue with either your device or power adapter. In this situation, please create a support ticket at
http://support.pogoplug.com or email
support@pogoplug.com to facilitate a warranty exchange.
My Pogoplug device has a yellow, orange, or red light. What should I do?
A solid yellow, orange, or red light on you device, indicates your Pogoplug cannot contact the service. Please power down your Pogoplug with the drive(s) still attached, and then physically detach your drive(s) before proceeding with the following troubleshooting steps.
- Your connection issue could be resolved with something as simple as a different Ethernet cable. Please substitute a different Ethernet cable and try a different Ethernet port on your router. You will need to power cycle Pogoplug to refresh the network connection attempt.
- If this fails, look for your Pogoplug in the list of DHCP clients on the status page of your router. Look for an unnamed device with the same MAC address as on the bottom of your Pogoplug.
If your Pogoplug is assigned a DHCP IP address, you are most likely experiencing an issue with your I.S.P.’s DNS server. We recommend entering a static entry in the DNS server field(s) of your router’s basic Internet setup page such as 4.2.2.3. or 208.67.222.222. You can find more addresses by searching “fast free DNS server” on a search engine. You will need to power cycle Pogoplug to refresh your network connection. If these troubleshooting techniques do not work and your device still has a yellow, orange or red light, please create a support ticket at
